There are less complaints about the heat now that it's beginning to cool off nicely! I'd never have imagined myself being pleased to have cold weather, but I am enjoying it, enjoying being able to go out without sweating, being able to walk around in the sun with a nice breeze. Not without it's flaws of course, the fluctuating temperature (4C at night to 30C in the day time sometimes) messes with you a bit, so I'm nursing a little rasp of a cough right now. It's hard to imagine that a couple of months ago we came home to broken AC and a 98F house and had to stay with friends until it was fixed. I suppose, also hard to imagine that 9 months ago we lost power because of 12 inches of snow and had to go and stay with friends. Texas is a strange part of the world!
I'm still working away at the job I started in April, driving my little commute in my little car. It didn't take long to get used to the driving. I'm procrastinating about my test though, I must sort that out.
It's been a busy few months, amongst other things the band headed down to Sia's in Waco for a recording weekend. We're still working on a few things but I'm excited about having a finished recording. My little car did wonders for the trip, stuffed to the brim, including a drum kit!

Other stuff... a girls trip to Austin for Kimberly's bachelorette weekend. Peter and Kimberly's wedding, a great day in a great venue with a great couple. We all danced the night away like loonies and everyone had a blast. And then not long after, Isaac's first birthday, he's a delight!
And Boston!! I loooooved it! We flew there early morning and met Bruce at the airport who kindly took our suitcase back to South Hamilton and so Chris and I spent our first afternoon doing the Freedom Trail. Lots of walking in cold sea wind, stopping for a beer here and there. We got to spend some lovely time with Bruce and Marya up there and went to Bruce's publication party where we got to meet some wonderful people, one being the Scot who we rented kilts from for the wedding and his family, great banter all round!
Chris and I also went to Salem (not really advised the weekend before Halloween!) and then spent some more time in actual Boston the day we flew home. We had a fantastic meal for our anniversary at a lovely little Italian called Il Panino. It was a wonderful spontaneous splurge and very good food. So, now it's November, proving how time is flying. As well as little Isaac, I'm still in denial that Claire and Robert's wee Martha just turned one, let alone that they just got hitched this weekend! It came around in no time, an event I was sorry to miss, it looked like a brilliant day.
And so, looking forward, it's nearly friggin' Christmas (ish)! It's only a month and a half until my folks wing their way over for a couple of weeks. I can't wait!!! And before that Thanksgiving, I'm hoping I'll get a couple days off work and we have time to do some family stuff. Thanksgiving is a great holiday, it's like Christmas, except more just about the food and then right after, it's Christmas! Genius!
And then it's another year, another birthday coming up. I'm nearly 30. Not that 2009 or 2010 are years that need to be topped, but I've got feeling about 2011. Onwards and onwards :D
Love
Jenna
